Artist's Comments

I headed back down to Bushrangers Bay (see previous submissions from last visit) to take some proper planned shots. I was relatively sure about how the weather was going to be as I had watched the satellite photos pretty much the whole day. The tide was right out and access was good. I headed down there to photograph a big arch that reaches out of the cliff, but with the tide right out I discovered a lot of other features that I also wanted to photograph. So here is the first shot of the first proper trip down to shoot Bushrangers Bay. Let me know what you think.

Sam, dude - you've been holding out on us big time. Wonderful vertical panorama.

I really like the bottom two thirds! What was the shutter speed? You must have had a polarizer, huh? It's an awesome result you got there.

Good questions. The shot was taken with a 2 second exposure at f-stop 22 and ISO 100. I used a 2-stop graduated ND filter to balance the sky with the darker rocks in the foreground. Didn't use a polarizer. Thanks for your comment.

Aha! a graduated ND filter, nice :) Interesting, that 2 sec exposure was perfect to smooth out and blur the water surface. It's great how clear it is, that's why I thought a polarizer might've been used. Anyway, thank you very much for your reply, I appreciate that. :)

Hey, this would work beautifully as a book-marker. I got a few in Greece this summer - yours is at least as beautiful.
