2 Year Absence

Wed Nov 30, 2005, 3:43 AM
I couldn't believe it today when I visited DA for the first time in a long time, just how much time it has been since my last contribution to this community. So what have you been up to during all this time?

Here is what I've been up to:
I am now a semi-professional photographer specialising in landscapes and tourism. I have had and are currently having 1 of 7 solo exhibitions based on a very specific landscapes project. At times my photography has driven me to near madness and I've had to have 'time-off' from it.

It's too hot an evening for me to go in to any more detail. For those of you who remember me, G'day! and for those who don't I hope you enjoy my work. As all of you will see, my photography has improved greatly over the last two years, I'm very proud of everything I have achieved and I look forward to hearing from all of you in time.

Hi steampoweredk9,

I recently and gladly and as you may have noticed, favourite’d some of your work. I find it eye-catching and wonderfully composed.

I don't know if you are already aware of the fact, but I am doing a study at college on how people decide if they like or dislike a piece of art. At the top of my DeviantART home page, I had a statement outlining the study.

I've just been reported to the staff here on DeviantART by an artist for intellectual property infringement, and was very saddened and shocked by this. As a result, I wish to fully inform all those who’s work I fav’d to let you know that no infringement of your intellectual property was intended, or will occur at any time during my study. Furthermore, if you want to me to remove you from consideration, or if you wish withdraw at any time later on, please let me know. No profit is or will be made from this academic endeavour, and all images are used under the fair uses rationale (low resolution image only, all credit to the artist, academic purposes only, etc). None of the works used will be printed, but instead will only be displayed on a computer screen for a few seconds.

If I am not banned, I plan to continue posting updates of my study, and the final findings in or around March 2008.

I hope that you would feel positive about this, fully informed, and would like to take part. If you have any further questions, please contact me, and I will be only too happy to clear anything up, or just have a chat about the study, art, or anything else.

Regards,
Olivia Rohan

p.s. My apologies if I have already contacted you in relation to this, but since I want to ensure that everyone is kept informed, erring on the side of caution with the sheer number involved will have the occasional double-up.

I'm in the process of designing a perceptual psychology study. Please help me by permitting me the temporary, fully credited, non-profit potential use of your work.Contact me for more info, or go to my page. you can withdraw at any time you want, no prob

I was wondering how you get the water to have that fog look in your pictures, as none of your pictures have your settings for your camera on them?
I live in the same area as some of those photographs, you truly present our area beautifully :)
